Port-Cros underwater trail

Its underwater trail

Located on La Palud beach (45-minute walk), this underwater trail is the first of its kind in France! Access is free and open to all (in season)!

Equipped with your flippers, mask and snorkel, you'll discover panels immersed under 6 buoys at depths of between 1 and 10 meters, each describing a marine ecosystem, with its flora and fauna, unique to the Mediterranean.

The crystal-clear waters of Port-Cros are teeming with marine life. You might spot groupers, barracudas, sea breams, corbs, conger eels or moray eels.

One of the forts of Port-Cros

Its strengths

If today the island of Port-Cros seduces nature lovers with its beauty, calm and serenity, it wasn't always so. For a long time, it was the target of barbarian pirates, including the notorious Barbarossa, who sowed terror.

In the 1630s, Richelieu decided to protect the island from pirate attacks by building 3 forts: Tour de l'Eminence, Fort de l'Estissac and Port Man.

As soon as you arrive in port, you'll also find the first fort built under François 1er, the Fort du Moulin.

Baie de la Palud in Port-Cros

Its natural riches

Arriving by boat, Port-Cros appears as a verdant island covered in thick forest.

The island of Port-Cros is home to rare species and many seabirds, such as the peregrine falcon and Scopoli's shearwater.

The island's terrestrial fauna also includes endemic species such as the Phyllodactyl lizard and the Sardinian discoglossus.

The Beaches

Unlike its big sister Porquerolles, the beaches of Port-Cros are very different. There are no long sandy beaches here, but rather small coves with crystal-clear waters teeming with life. Port-Cros has three beaches:

La Palud beach in Port-Cros

La Palud beach

Facing the Rascas rocks, 45 minutes from the village, this small beach of coarse sand, shaded by tamarisk trees, is the setting for the underwater trail during the summer season.

Plage du Sud in Port-Cros

South Beach

The most accessible of the Port-Cros beaches ( 30-minute walk), it's also the busiest. This small, white-sand beach is the most sheltered in an easterly wind.

Port-Man beach in Port-Cros

Port-Man beach

Located at the end of the magnificent Port-Man bay, this gravel beach is the largest on the island. Well protected from the Mistral, it offers breathtaking panoramic views. But it has to be earned! It takes 2 hours (and good sneakers) to get there.

These sites are just a few of the many treasures Port-Cros has to offer. What are the advantages of a hybrid boat?

The hybrid boat is a recent solution for shipowners who, like us, are looking to reduce their carbon footprint while enjoying optimum cruising comfort for their passengers. Although the popularity of hybrid boats is on the rise, still too few shipping companies are investing in this technology, mainly due to the boat's higher initial cost compared with a traditional boat (with a better return on investment).

But with electric and diesel propulsion, these boats offer significant ecological advantages over traditional boats, and unrivalled comfort for passengers!
