Frequently asked questions

Is booking compulsory?

Are dogs allowed?

Nous acceptons bien entendu les chiens à bord sans supplément de tarif. Le chien doit être tenu en laisse et reste bien entendu sous la responsabilité de son maitre. Par contre, ils sont réglementés sur les Îles d'Or:

  • at Port-Cros, dogs on leashes are allowed in the village of Port-Cros, between the Fort du Moulin and the statue of St Joseph, but they are prohibited on most of the island to maintain the tranquillity of the fauna and the cleanliness of the beaches.
  • At Porquerolles, dogs are allowed on the entire island, except for the beaches.
Do you accept strollers and bicycles on board?

Strollers are welcome, as long as they can be folded up, especially in busy areas. However, if you're planning a stopover on the island of Port-Cros, be aware that it's not really suitable for strollers.

As for the bikes, they're staying put! Our boat doesn't have room for them. And between you and me, transporting a bike costs the same as renting one directly from Porquerolles. What's more, in the event of a puncture, it's better to call the rental company than to play repair apprentice on a footpath.

Do you offer crossings to Porquerolles or Port-Cros with a return on another day?

Our boat trips to Porquerolles and Port-Cros are exclusively organized as day trips, with one outward and one return trip on the same day. We do not offer delayed return crossings.

What are the least frequented days on the island of Porquerolles ?

Contrary to what you might think, it's best to visit the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Croson weekend days . In fact, these are the least frequented days due to the large majority of rentals and accommodations arriving and departing.

If weekends aren't an option, Mondays and Fridays are best, as the islands are busiest on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the peak season (especially August).

What happens when I've bought my tickets and the tour is cancelled?

However, if you cancel, tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable.

How far in advance do I need to present myself for boarding?

The times shown are always departure times, so please arrive well in advance: 15 minutes before is fine!

In very high season, and depending on your departure time, you should also allow time for parking, as the many parking spaces near our pier can fill up quickly!

Where can I find out about access to forest areas at risk from wildfire?

From June 19 to September 20, the Var Prefecture regulates access to the Var forest areas in case of fire risk. The Golden Isles are Golden Isles exception!

On days when the risk of fire is very high (red), traffic on the islands is restricted:

  • At Porquerolles, only the beach access roads are open.
  • At Port-Cros, only access to the southern beach and the village. For extreme risk, at Port-Cros, only the village is accessible.

We cannot be held responsible for the closure of forest areas in the event of strong winds and drought, as decided by Arrêté Préfectoral. To avoid disappointment, please make sure you have all the information you need before booking.

The information map for access to forest areas at risk from forest fires is published every day at 7pm for the following day on the https://www.risque-prevention-incendie.fr/var/ website.
