Scattering or disposal of cremated remains at sea
For the last and final journey of a deceased loved one, we offer an ash scattering or urn immersion service in the Mediterranean Sea. In the magnificent setting of the Hyères harbor, opposite the Îles d'Or (Porquerolles and Port-Cros), you can enjoy the peace and serenity of a final farewell.
We will welcome your loved ones at the port of Bormes les Mimosason a professional, totally secure boat that can accommodate up to 50 people, equipped with toilets, and adapted for people with reduced mobility. For those moments when family togetherness is essential, our boat offers an intimate space for up to 50 loved ones. Our environmentally-friendly and silent hybrid boat will preserve the serenity of the moment.
What's more, our professional boat ensures optimum safety and accessibility for people with reduced mobility, equipped with adapted toilets so that everyone can experience this moment in complete serenity.
At the end of your ceremony, we'll provide you with GPS coordinates and a map of the scattering or urn immersion site in the Mediterranean Sea.
Scattering ashes or immersing a biodegradable urn?
La dispersion des cendres en pleine mer doit respecter la réglementation maritime stipulée dans la loi du 2/01/1986, ainsi que l’article L.2213-23 du Code Général des Collectivités Territoriales. Pour cela, vous avez deux possibilités :
- La dispersion de cendres à la surface de l’eau : l’urne est ouverte et les cendres sont dispersées à plus de 300 mètres des côtes.
- Immersion of a biodegradable funeralurn. The urn is placed on the surface of the sea and gently immersed in the seabed at a minimum distance of 3 nautical miles, or around 6 km.
INFORMATION
Prior to immersion or dispersal, we will assist you in completing the compulsory formalities :
- Declaration to the town hall of the commune of birth of the deceased, specifying the planned date of burial or scattering.
- Declaration to the town hall of the boat's home port Bormes les Mimosas)
If you are unable to travel, or do not wish to come on board, we can carry out the scattering or immersion service for you. In this case, you can send the urn to us by the means of transport of your choice.
